Play saves lives

It keeps children in school and out of work. It teaches them how to prevent life-threatening diseases like HIV and malaria and keep them safe from exploitation and abuse. It gives girls the power to say no to unwanted sex, and make healthy decisions about their bodies and their futures.

Play is powerful

We are transforming the lives of millions of children each year. Using all forms of play - games, sport, poetry, performance, dance, art and music - we create lasting impact and empower children with the knowledge and skills to drive change in their lives, their families and their communities.

Meet the Uprisers

Every day the children in our programs rise above challenges that rob them of their dignity, their promise and put them at risk. We honor these Uprisers.

Children like Balla, 12, who worked in Mali's most dangerous gold mines, but is now back in school, excelling in mathematics and French, and wants to become a doctor. This is her journey.
