Legacy and Bequest Gifts
Would you like to leave a lasting impact? By including a gift to Right To Play’s work in your will, you ensure that your commitment to children lives on.
Why make a will?
Writing a will allows you to decide what happens to your assets when you are no longer here. Many people choose to include a cause close to their heart in their will, leaving a lasting gift to something that matters to them.
By leaving a gift to Right To Play in your will, you can help ensure that more children in vulnerable communities gain access to safety and learning. Your gift will make a lasting difference for future generations as well.
A gift from you can support more girls like Liya
Liya was just 16 when she was at risk of becoming part of a grim statistic in Ethiopia — one in five girls is married off before the age of 15. But Liya had a different plan, she wanted to become a doctor. Through the Rights Club established by Right To Play, she received the support she needed to stand up for herself and choose her own path.

What your legacy gift can support
We are grateful for all contributions, regardless of size. A gift from you will support our work to give children the opportunity to learn, create safe environments, provide protection, and strengthen their ability to stand up for their rights.
In many parts of the world, play is not a given for children. Because they live in poverty. Because they are fleeing war and conflict. Because they have to work. Because they are ill or live with disabilities.
Every year, Right To Play ensures that millions of children living in difficult circumstances have play included in their daily lives. Through play, we protect, educate, and empower children so they are better equipped to shape their own future.

Our history
It all started with a boy in a long-sleeved sweater…
In 1994, Johann Olav Koss travelled to Eritrea. In a country deeply affected by civil war and famine, he met a schoolboy who made him realise the importance and value of play.
When recess began, the other children gathered around the boy. He took off his sweater, rolled it up into a ball — and just like that, the football match was on! The sense of community, freedom, and joy the children showed during the game made a strong impression on Johann. Right then and there, he decided to found Right To Play to help more children growing up in war, poverty, and conflict experience the positive power of play.
Twenty years later, millions of children in 14 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East take part in Right To Play’s programmes. We create positive and safe learning environments where children have the opportunity to learn and develop through various forms of play, both in the classroom and outdoors.
